WeChat Blocks Mining and ICOs
September 11, 2018
Chinese messenger WeChat continues struggling against accounts that distribute crypto content. The company is reported to have closed all channels that are used to sell mining hardware and provide analytics.
Thus, official sales channel of one of the largest mining organizations Bitmain in the messenger is now unavailable and search requests with the related tags result in a message saying that this content violates the rules of the messenger.
Users addressed technical support and learned that the account did not have required licenses while distributing information on the business it was involved in.
Note that another account of the company containing data on mining hardware is still available.
WeChat has been blocking all accounts recently that were involved in providing analytics and prognoses on digital currency rates.
Remember, earlier the messenger locked around 30 crypto media accounts that had information on ICO projects.
