India to Use Blockchain Against False Calls

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) plans to adopt blockchain against false calls and messages.
The authority published a draft on Tuesday and thus expressed its wish to apply blockchain for more efficient struggle against nuisance commercial calls and messages coming from abusers violating from regulations in the industry.
The project suggests granting millions of communication users options to keep voice calls and messages they receive in check, refuse from marketing calls any time and file claims to communication services provider in case of any.
To achieve these goals the authority proposes elaborating blockchain-based system that would provide compliance with rules and regulations without imposing restriction on market innovations. As the agency notes, reliability and applicability of blockchain has been proven not once so they are convinced blockchain has never been implemented in communication industry to such an extent before.
