Attorney General of New York Questioning 13 World Crypto Exchanges
April 18, 2018
Eric Schneiderman, New York Attorney General, has sent messages to 13 world’s major crypto exchanges asking for detailed information on their activity and customer security matters.
“Too often, consumers don’t have the basic facts they need to assess the fairness, integrity, and security of these trading platforms”, said Schneiderman.
The messages are questionnaires covering matters like:
- data on owners of platform and parent company;
- detailed information of transactions and charging commission fees;
- ways exchange controls operations internally.
Above all this, companies are obliged to inform, how they struggle market manipulation and scam attempts via digital currencies and describe their policy on trading bots.
Among those who received the message there are Huobi Global Limited (Huobi.Pro), Bittrex Inc., Binance Limited, Circle Internet Financial Limited (Poloniex), Coinbase Inc., iFinex Inc. (Bitfinex), bitFlyer USA, Bitstamp USA, Payward Inc. (Kraken), Elite Way Developments LLP (Tidex.com), Gate Technology Incorporated (Gate.io), itBit Trust Company, Gemini.
Reportedly, all the required information must be provided until May 1 this year.
