Miner Virus Blocking Its Competitors Detected
March 7, 2018
ICS Sans researchers have detected a mining virus with a “kill list” option. The function allows for taking capacities of infected computer under control and subsequent terminating of other such-like malwares on the device. As for the rest, the miner is little or no different from similar viruses, as the company’s representative Xavier Mertens said.
He also noted, unlike his competitors the developer of the program realized the market is becoming even tighter while infecting devices getting harder.
The author of the miner has analyzed through his opponents and made a list of programs to occur most frequently. As ICS Sans says, the “Kill list” Trojan checks activity of processes and then stops them.
It is to be reminded that 4275 governmental sites were infected globally with Coinhive miner last month.
